| Our snowmaking system has the resort covered adding quality man-made snow to our high natural snowfalls. We utilise water from the largest alpine lake in Australia which means almost endless snowmaking capabilities. Including the entire 2.2km length of Wombats Ramble, since it's launch in 2010, has meant that Wombats has been skiable from top to bottom from the opening weekend of the ski season in both 2010 and again in 2011. Falls Creek overlooks Rocky Valley Lake, Australia’s largest alpine lake which gives us enormous snowmaking potential. Aqueducts across the resort divert melting snow to replenish the lake at the end of the winter season. There’s over 20km of underground air and water pipes across Falls Creek. This network of pipes delivers the correct air-water mixture to the snow guns. Our snowmaking system covers 110ha of the resort, providing Victoria’s most reliable snow. That's why you can book Falls Creek with confidence of skiing earlier, and later into the season. |
