SPECIAL PROGRAMS.

Welcome to the Terrain Park Institute (TPI) coaching programs for advanced to expert skiers and boarders.
Our programs focus on the disciplines of Slopestyle and Big Air. Elements specific to this include time spend on the Terrain Park features, racing, moguls and all mountain riding/skiing during the season.
Enjoy professional coaching in Falls Creeks’ world class Terrain Park. The philosophy is to provide base technique for a lifetime of enjoyment in the snow.


TPI Short Programs (School Holidays) 2011

Ski Short Holiday 2 Week
Skiers – from 8 yrs: Level 5 skier – can make parallel turns on blue runs and groomed black runs

This program is for skiers interested in pursuing improvement in their technique that caters for both the first year athlete or for the experienced competitor. Athletes may already be competing in Interschool’s competitions, SSA, FIS or freeride competitions. Training is all day during the Victorian school holidays. Athletes will strive towards developing their skills in freeride/ all mountain, moguls, rails, slopestyle, big air and skier cross while achieving goals in a fun environment. Helmet use is mandatory for all participants.


Cost: $1200| After 30 May $1250 (price does not incl Season Passes – see general info)
Duration: 14 days

TPI Seasonal Programs 2011

Our programs focus on the disciplines of Slopestyle and Big Air. Elements specific to this include time spend on the Terrain Park features, racing, moguls and all mountain riding/skiing during the season.

These programs can help to raise performance and ability to the next level, prepare for participation in Interschool events, Freeride competitions or mogul competitions. The daily training schedule is based on an all day program (5 hours). Helmet use is mandatory for all participants.


TPI Ski Competition Program
Skiers – from 12yrs: Level 6 skier – can make strong parallel turns and ski black terrain in all conditions.

This program is for skiers interested in pursuing improvement in their technique that caters for both the first year athlete or for the experienced competitor. Athletes may already be competing in Interschool’s competitions, SSA, FIS or freeride competitions. Training is all day and weekend orientated with the Victorian school holidays included in the program. Athletes will strive towards perfecting their skills in freeride/ all mountain, moguls, rails, slopestyle, big air and skier cross while achieving goals in a fun environment. Depending on ability and numbers, it is proposed that skiers may participate in competitions. Helmet use is mandatory for all participants.

Duration: 32 days

TPI Ski Program

TPI Freeride Snowboard Program
Snowboarder – 10 yrs and above: Level 6 snowboarder – We can ride blue terrain with refined techniques.
We will learn to ride steeper terrain and learn fakie, flat-land tricks, basic carving and basic Terrain Park including etiquette.

This program is for snowboarders wanting to develop snowboarding fundamentals as well as prepare for local, state or national competitions e.g. Interschool’s. It will provide a good stepping stone to work towards the competitive arena nationally. Training will focus on jumps, rails, Big Air, slopestyle as well as freeride/ all-mountain riding to develop a solid skill base.

Payment Option
Full payments can be made by Money Order, Visa, MasterCard, or Amex.

Season Pass
Participants of SEASONAL training programs (28 days or more) (excluding Short School Holiday Programs, Special Programs and individual week or weekend training) are entitled to purchase a Falls Creek season pass for training at early bird child and youth rates at anytime.

Athletes $672.00 Season Pass insurance $35 optional


General Conditions

Falls Creek Ski Lifts reserves the right to alter or amend any programs. Prices, services and conditions are correct at the time of printing but may be subject to change without notice at Falls Creek’s absolute discretion. All training programs are non-transferable, non-refundable and are offered subject to minimum participation levels. Credit for missed sessions or days will not apply. All programs are subject to a minimum number of participants to proceed.

Injury Refund Policy
In the case that a TPI program athlete is injured during the season and the nature of the injury prevents further participation in the registered program, members may apply for a partial refund of the program fees. Refunds will be by cheque, with the amount calculated from the day after the injury less $35 administration costs upon FCSL sighting a medical certificate. Details of the refund policy are available from the ticket office.

Age Guidelines
Each program caters for a recommended age group and these age categories are guidelines only. If you feel that your child should be in a different age group we will be happy to assess the circumstances on an individual basis.

First Program Day Information
On the first program day, all training programs
Meet at the at Student Group sign, located at the top of the Falls Express chairlift, turn to the left looking at the towers chairlift.

Time: 9.00am.

Completed paperwork and payment must be received prior to the first training day.



Helmet use is mandatory for all participants during training and competition, and strongly recommended at other times.

All programs are subject to a minimum number of participants to proceed.

Daily start and finish times may vary according to weather and training schedules. Please check with your coach for information & update to any changes.

All programs include on-snow coaching, dryland training, equipment advice, equipment tuning, coaching support at selected competitions, unless otherwise stated.


Competition Information

What competition can you enter?
SSA (Ski and Snowboard Australia) Events
All athletes who compete in SSA sanctioned events, must hold a valid SSA registration. This can be purchased through the SSA office or website on www.skiingaustralia.org.au. SSA members may also apply for competition insurance.
The SSA membership year begins 1 May through to 30 April in the following year. More information can be obtained from your coach.

Other Races/Competitions
A variety of non-sanctioned competitions may be on offer for all age groups. To find out more information, ask you coach.

Entry to Competitions
Entry to all competition will be the responsibility athletes and/ or their parents. Please note, event waivers and release forms must be signed by parents or guardians.

The TPI coaches will assist in coordinating and entering athletes into events. All other arrangements, e.g. transport, lift tickets and accommodation, are the responsibility of athletes/parents. Please contact your coach for advice and assistance before deciding to enter events.
