| Whether you are learning how to ski or you are already an avid lover of snowsports, the Mim Sodergren Women’s Ski Program at Falls Creek is for you. No doubt you will recognise that as women, we have different physiology to men. Therefore we need different teaching strategies when it comes to learning how to ski or further developing our skills. Not only do women ski differently to men, we also learn differently too. We tend to learn by asking “Why?”, “Where?”, “How” – as opposed to just going for it down the ski run! The Mim Sodergren Women’s Ski Program is specially designed for women, by women and - under the guidance of experienced female instructors - aims to give you the chance to improve your skills and overcome any fears in a fun and supportive environment. Mim Sodergren, with her husband Mike were well loved instructors who taught skiing at Falls Creek during the 80’s. For two decades, the couple's passion for skiing circled the world, from many resorts around Lake Tahoe, California, to the Australian ski fields. During her time in Falls Creek, Mim was instrumental in developing teaching techniques specifically for women both young and not so young with all levels of skiing experience. Unfortunately, after moving to Thredbo, Mim and Mike perished in the Thredbo disaster. The Mim Sodergren Women’s Program has continued in honour of our dear friends. Each session has up to six hours of instruction daily. The program is open to all level of skiers with the emphasis on small groups. It involves individual assessment, video tape analysis, discussions on achieving goals, overcoming fears and having a lot of fun at the same time. Extra activities include: Après drinks, end of program dinner, fashion parade, a group photo and a gift to remember the experience.
