Four of us based ourselves for 3 days in the newly renovated Larissa apartment in late November. Arrived on a very cold day, but Brett, the manager, showed us into our warm, smart and well-equipped apartment. As wild flower "nuts", we walked the Bogong High Plains each day and at day's end it was lovely to return to the comfort and stylishness of "Larissa". We self-catered as, regrettably, we didn't realise that Fruehauf's excellent Milch cafe would be open every day we were there. The kitchen was modern and well-equipped, and the beds super-comfortable. Definitely recommend it. Room Tip: North-facing apartments on the upper floors have the best views.
This year was our fourth time at Frueauf Village. Each time we have had different apartments. Our latest stay was a spacious Penthouse which had brilliant views and a huge drying room - handy for getting all the ski gear dry in no time. We really loved the extra space. Last year we had a Studio apartment which was much smaller with an incredibly steep set of loft stairs (my least favourite apartment of our various stays). The service at Frueauf is fantastic. Brett the onsite manager was more than happy to help us out with any questions or minor issues we had. The welcome breakfast basket is lovely and means you don't need to worry about breakfast on day 1 - handy if you check in later in the day like we did. We love that the apartments at Frueauf are ski in ski out - although we always visit in August (peak season) so this is almost (??!!) guaranteed. If you visit out of peak season it would be a bit of a hassle to get the oversnow to and from your apartment from the chairlift with all your gear - especially if you have kids - but we have never had to worry about that yet. The addition of Xboxes in the room and faster internet this year was a bonus. All in all we love staying at Frueauf and have already booked our return visit for next year. Stayed August 2015, travelled with family
