Taking a trip to the Australian Alps can be daunting so we’ve put together a guide for you when planning your next trip to Falls Creek.
The official season at Falls Creek runs from Queen's Birthday Weekend on June 9th through until to October 7th. This doesn't mean the snow remains the same the whole way through, and snow conditions vary at different times of the year.
To make things easy, a season can be broken into three periods - Low Season, Mid-Season and Peak Season. You are most likely to get fresh snow in Peak Season, but you will also pay the most for accommodation. Low Season offers the best prices but snowfall is not as likely as Peak Season. Mid-Season offers a mix of the two.
There is a wide range of accommodation options to choose from. You can stay in the Fall Creek village or if you prefer off-mountain, there are plenty of places nearby in Mount Beauty and the Bogong Village.
Falls Creek is a 100% ski-in ski-out village in peak snow conditions so staying in the village offers the greatest snow experience; you can ski straight out the door! There are 3 different property types available to suit anyone’s needs and budget:
Experience city living in the snowy hill at Falls Creek and stay at one our award winning hotels. Facilities can range from a kitchenette with tea & coffee facilities, to full size kitchens and other luxuries like private spas and balconies.
If you’re coming in large groups or prefer to self-cater with full kitchens apartments is a perfect option. Both serviced and self-contained apartments are available for various group sizes.
Opt-in for the classic snow experience; imagine large open fires and comfy couches in big communal spaces. Many lodges offer a fully catered experience with meals included by an in-house chef or will allow you to self-cater with communal kitchen facilities.
