We’ve got a base of over 150cm and with another 100cms expected in the next week, we are thrilled to announce that Falls Creek will be extending season 2017 for one more week! That means we'll be open until the end of the VICTORIAN and NSW school holidays, with our season close on Sunday October 8th.
‘It’s just been exceptional this season’ says Falls Creek General Manager Sharon Raguse. ‘Looking around today on the 2nd September you’d think it was July school holidays with all the guests in the village and out on the hill, the place is absolutely buzzing! Once this next
snow fall hits it will go to the next level, we will likely have a base well over 2 metres and fresh powder in September!’

Falls Creek’s high alpine
location brings significant natural snowfalls and our snow hugging,
largely south-facing slopes help to retain that snow longer.
To complement the natural snow fall our snow makers work tirelessly to produce snow at every opportunity. Our massive snowmaking system is able to generate quality man-made snow at the flick of a switch.
We draw water in a virtuous, closed loop cycle from the largest alpine lake in Australia ensuring almost endless snowmaking capabilities.
We concentrate our snowmaking, slope maintenance and grooming efforts in our most popular ski areas and along home trails which link to and from your accommodation. The results, reliable skiing and boarding all season long.
Our snow groomers head out each and every night, pushing and flattening snow to build the perfect surface for skiers and snowboarders across the entire mountain. They move the snow to the most popular areas to ensure an even cover over every run.
Our renowned 'progression perfect' terrain allows you to easily graduate from beginner to intermediate to advanced trails and with 450 hectares of rideable resort area you'll have the space to progress.
If you're on snow for the first time we have beginner lessons and packages that will set you up with all the equipment and expert knowledge you need. Enjoy wide trails with a gentle pitch and experience Australia's longest beginner trail day and night. Falls Creek gives you the time and space to progress in your own time.
As you progress from beginner to expert you'll discover our cruisey blue runs with groomed corduroy and wide open trails there's plenty of room to move.
Take the next step and test your technique on the steeps, head for powder in the treelines of The Maze or ski backcountry on Mt McKay.
