What to bring along:

You will need to have a valid Mountain Access Card, with a lift pass loaded onto it. Lift tickets can only be purchased online. You will also need to be suited up with your snow gear, helmet, skis and boots or snowboard and boots. Falls Creek's Helmet Policy requires that all participants in children's Snowsports Programs, plus any programs that access our terrain parks, race courses or similar activities, wear an approved snowsports helmet. Click here to view Falls Creek's Helmet Policy.

Private Lesson Recommendations

Guests in private lessons are required to be of the same discipline and roughly the same ability level.

Guests in private lessons should be roughly the same age to ensure everyone has the optimal chance of progression. See below the age ranges recommended for the same lesson:

Children aged 3-to-6-years old
Children aged 7-to-14-years-old
Adults aged 15+ years old
- Children aged 3-to-6 years old and adults (15+) are not recommended to be in the same lesson, due to different learning requirements and physical capabilities.

The Snowsports School understands the desire to join a private lesson as a family. However, please consider the instructor will have to cater to the lowest ability level and/or the youngest guest. This is to ensure everyone's safety during the lesson.

For guests that have booked 8.30am private lessons, Halley's Comet Quad Chair opens at 8:15am for you to access Cloud 9. All guests that have booked 8.30am private lessons will need to collect their rental equipment the night before.

Choose A Private Lesson Time:

Private Lessons are available from June 7 – October 5 2025

7 Hour All Day: Standard starting time 8:30am but flexible upon request. Halley's Comet Quad Chair opens at 8:15am for private lesson guests to access Cloud 9.

1.5 Hour AM Jump Start: Commences at 8:30am and finishes at 10:00am. Halley's Comet Quad Chair opens at 8:15am for private lesson guests to access Cloud 9.

2.5 Hour AM: Commences at 10:00am and finishes at 12:30pm.

2 Hour PM: Commences at 1:00pm and finishes at 3:00pm.

3 Hour PM Lesson: Commences at 1:00pm and finishes at 4:00pm.

1.5 Hour PM Lesson: Commences at 3:00pm and finishes at 4.30pm.

All Private Lessons:

Enjoy lift priority
Instructor will personalise and tailor lessons to individual skill levels
Can accommodate up to 6 people in them
All participants must be of similar ability and the same discipline
Lift tickets are not included

Meeting Area

Your private lesson will commence opposite Cloud 9, which is located at the top of Halley's Comet Chairlift. When you leave the chairlift, you will see a red sign on the left of Mouse Trap that reads Private Lesson Meet Here. Your Instructor will meet you there, ready to go!

We recommend that you allow at least half an hour to line up for Halley's Comet chairlift. You will also need to be suited up with your snow gear, helmet, and ski or board equipment. If you require rentals, it is highly recommended that you organise this at least the night before your lesson to save you time, especially on weekends.

Private lessons are required to be booked at least 1 full day in advance to ensure it is appropriately rostered. Alternatively, please come into the Snowsports Office to see our team for last minute availability.

Lift access is not included in your lesson purchase and all lesson participants require a valid lift ticket regardless of their ability level. Find out more about lift tickets here.

How to book online:

Book online and in advance to secure your private lesson.
Private lesson rates include the lesson only, so be sure to add your lift ticket and rentals to your online purchase. Full payment is required at the time of booking.
Private lessons are sold one day at a time. For multi-day bookings, you may add additional bookings by selecting relevant dates.
Only one customer can be assigned for a private lesson booking - additional customers can be included in the comment section. Please assign the private lesson to the same customer and we will endeavour to match you with the same instuctor across your booking. Bookings completed in different orders may not receive the same instructor, based on availability at the time of the new booking.
Maximum number of participants in all private lessons is six guests per instructor.
You may include your special instructor request in the online booking process.
