Falls Creek Winter 2025: Season Highlights

Posted 5 October 2025

As the lifts stop spinning, we can look back and say what a season it has been at Falls Creek. From the first magical Opening Weekend through to the September School Holidays Festival, winter 2025 gave us unforgettable moments both on and off the slopes.

This season saw a total of 368cm of natural snowfall, consistently delivered across the winter, creating some of the best conditions we’ve seen in years.

The season began in spectacular fashion, transforming the mountain from green to white literally overnight. A massive 71cm snowstorm rolled through on Opening Weekend, setting the tone for the incredible months that followed. Guests were treated to fresh turns right from that very start, with the mountain buzzing with excitement. Helping keep the momentum rolling was the addition of our brand-new Techno Alpin snow guns. With over 530 hours of production, our snowmaking team worked tirelessly to provide the best possible coverage across the resort.

This year also saw the village thriving with 29 unique dining options, as well as a wide variety of chalets and lodges offering ski-in-ski-out convenience for 89 days from June through September. Thanks to consistent natural snowfall, terrain opened quickly, and by mid-July 100% of lifts were spinning and all terrain open, a testament to the hard work of our Mountain Operations teams, who kept everything running smoothly through de-icing, digging out chairs and round-the-clock dedication.

Events were a true highlight of the 2025 season. The inaugural Junior Freeride gave young athletes the opportunity to showcase their impressive skills, proving the future of freeride skiing and snowboarding is bright. Our terrain parks also came alive, with all three parks, Castle, Panorama and Drovers open and buzzing. Jumps, rails, and the brand-new Ruckus Rail Jam.

As winter rolled into spring, Mother Nature kept delivering. With a base of over 1.4 metres, guests enjoyed some of the best spring conditions we’ve had in years. Bluebird days, soft turns, and plenty of après fun created an atmosphere that will be remembered for seasons to come. To close it all out, we introduced our very first September School Holidays Festival, bringing families together for donut decorating, twilight skiing, fireworks, a visit from Pete the Snow Dragon and the return of the Pond Skim. It was the perfect way to celebrate the end of such a memorable season.

To all our guests, staff and community who made Falls Creek so special this winter, thank you. From that opening weekend snowstorm through to the spring sunshine, 2025 truly had it all. We can’t wait to welcome you back next year for more turns, more events, and more memories.

See you in 2026.
