While it’s not quite the ending to winter we had planned, there’s still so much from this season worth celebrating. This winter threw its share of challenges our way, but there were still plenty of great days, memorable turns and exciting moments across the mountain and village.
That’s the beauty of Falls Creek. A winter holiday here has always been about fun days on the snow, paired with everything the alpine village has to offer. From days exploring the slopes to afternoons spent soaking up the views, après session with friends and evenings discovering the village, Falls Creek is a destination made for winter escapes.
As we say goodbye to winter, we’re looking back at some of the moments that made this season special.
Progression perfect terrain
At the heart of any Falls Creek winter is, of course, the skiing and snowboarding. From finding your feet on beginner terrain to building confidence on cruisy groomers and stepping up to more challenging runs, Falls Creek is a mountain made for progression.
Despite challenging snowmaking conditions this season, our teams made the most of every suitable weather window to support key areas of the mountain. Combined with the huge effort from our grooming and mountain operations teams, who helped us keep delivering the best possible skiing and snowboarding experience throughout a challenging winter.
Whether it was your first-ever run, linking turns on a blue run for the first time or simply enjoying a few sunny laps with friends, there were plenty of memorable moments to be had on the slopes this winter.
Event Highlights
One of the biggest highlights this season was the Falls Creek Freeride Junior 2*, our first-ever sanctioned freeride event.
It was an exciting addition to the calendar, giving the next generation of freeriders an opportunity to showcase their creativity, progression and skill on the mountain. Seeing young athletes take on the course and the community come together around the event was a standout moment, and we’re excited to see it continue to grow as part of the Falls Creek winter calendar.
Plenty of action in the parks
Despite a lower-than-usual snowpack, our Terrain Parks crew kept the features rolling across Drovers and Panorama parks throughout the season.
With Rocky Valley Lake providing the backdrop, Panorama Park has to be a contender for one of the most picturesque terrain parks in Australia and there was plenty happening there this winter.
The Ruckus Rail Jam brought plenty of energy and style to the park, alongside community events and athlete ride days. Visits from international athletes also gave our park community the opportunity to ride alongside some of the best and share the stoke with the next generation.
