It has been a fantastic Opening Weekend at Falls Creek with a massive snowstorm bringing 71cm of fresh snow. It has been one of the best season starts we’ve seen in years and the biggest snowstorm over the June long weekend in a long time!
Our snowmaking team has also been working hard with the snow guns running for over 130 hours since snowmaking started in May! With low temps in the forecast, they will continue to run the snow guns at every opportunity to top up this snowfall beautifully.
Thanks to the massive snowstorm, our snowmaking efforts with our new Techno Alpin snow guns and the hard work of our operations team, we’re excited to announce that Drovers Dream and Eagle Express chairlifts will be open from Friday 13 June! This will open up fantastic beginner terrain on Drovers Dream and give guests access to the slopes from Village Bowl.
The team have been working hard every night and day to get the mountain ready and will spend the next few days digging out lift load areas, de-icing chairs and completing final checks to ensure the additional lifts can spin safely from Friday.
From Saturday, Gully chairlift will also open for access to the Village Bowl from the car park. You can keep up to date with lifts and terrain operations through the Falls Creek app or Lifts & Terrain page.
This is just the beginning! With consistent snowmaking and more snow in the Weatherzone forecast, we’re preparing to open even more terrain soon! Stay tuned for further updates next week on our social media channels or sign up to our emails.
In the meantime, Towers, Halley’s Comet and Mouse Trap are spinning with 9 trails open including Main Street, Highway 83, Nastar, Wombat’s Ramble, Broadway and more to come!
Private lessons are available now for the season. To celebrate 71cm of snow last weekend, we’re offering a $71 voucher to either Cloud 9 Restaurant OR Falls Creek Sports to every private lesson booked on Saturday and Sunday this weekend! Grab up to 5 of your mates and book either a ski or snowboard private lesson with one of our expert instructors to make the most of your mountain time. Lessons must be booked online by Friday to take advantage of this deal!
Falls Creek Sports in the Village Bowl will also open from Saturday with our new equipment valet service! Rent your gear from any Falls Creek Sports outlet and we will valet your equipment from our Village Bowl store for free.
Plus, Scenic chairlift rides on Halley’s Comet are still on offer between 11am to 3pm daily, so you can check out the newly renovated Cloud 9 Restaurant.
