What has changed so far?
The first two summers of construction have seen major structural changes to the building. The terrace has been partially covered for protection and extended to offer a much larger area to enjoy the stunning mountain views. A new retail space has opened for the Falls Creek Sports store to ensure we have everything you need including a great range of gloves, goggles, helmets, beanies and other winter essentials.
Accessibility has been improved significantly with an entrance ramp and an internal elevator replacing stairs making facilities easier to access for all guests. A new state-of-the-art kitchen has been installed, complete with a new pizza oven, to offer breakfast and lunch to guests. The improvements to the kitchen and access across the multiple levels has seen huge improvements in the ability to provide lunches and snacks for our world class Snowsports School kids programs, Snowclub and Junior Workshop.
The finishing touches!
Renovations are nearly complete, and Cloud 9 Restaurant is gearing up for opening weekend June 7! This marks the third and final stage of the redevelopment, and it’s been well worth the wait.
The new roof, sees high ceilings - now freshly painted - and expansive north-facing windows that frame panoramic alpine views stretching across to Spion Kopje. Designed to make the most of the winter sun, the space is warm, inviting, and filled with natural light.
A new semi-enclosed area offers protection from wind and snow while still letting in the sunshine, perfect for relaxing on bluebird days.
Upstairs, a brand new bar service area on the mezzanine level is almost complete, along with the kitchen, now featuring brand new tiling throughout. And the brand-new pizza oven will be firing for opening weekend, ready to serve up fresh slices!
These final touches are bringing the space to life, just in time to welcome guests back for winter.
