Falls Creek held its first Freeride event recently, with 89 competitors in the U10 to U19 age range competing in both ski and snowboard divisions, including many female competitors, with one scoring a huge 98 points. The conditions were perfect with light winds, bluebird conditions and a deep snowpack for the event.
“It was a fantastic day today for the first-ever Junior Freeride event,” said Danny Foster, Falls Creek’s snowsports senior manager and one of the judges. “We had amazing conditions and athletes were throwing down across the spectrum – super cool for spectators, and an amazing day out. It couldn’t have gone any better.”
