Falls Creek Reveals Exciting Line-Up of Events for 2025 Snow Season

Falls Creek, Australia’s favourite family-friendly resort, has unveiled its line-up of events for the highly anticipated 2025 winter season. From beloved family-friendly favourites to some exciting new additions, there will be plenty happening on and off the snow for everyone to enjoy.  

 

The Opening Weekend Festival, beginning Saturday 7 June, will start the season with a bang. The celebratory Village Bowl Street Party will be followed by a spectacular firework show on Saturday night. 

 

Families will be delighted by an action-packed calendar of events, including the Firework Fiestas lighting up Thursday nights throughout July and August, offering a mesmerising spectacle under the starry skies, complemented by Night Skiing and Boarding every Wednesday and Saturday, starting 28 June. 

 

Falls Creek isn't just about family fun; their 2025 line-up of events brings heart-pounding events to the slopes. For those craving adrenaline-fueled thrills, Falls Creek delivers with an array of exhilarating competitions throughout the season. From the exhilarating Bandwagon Banked Slalom and Summit Masters to the action-packed Board Lounge Throwdown and Storm the Park Slopestyle.  

 

Après in the village is sure to please with events on every night. Guests can enjoy live music every Monday at Astra and every Saturday in August at Lakeside. Happy Hour is offered daily at Huski Kitchen and Frying Pan Inn. Harvey Hour is Falls Creek Hotel on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The Man will host events most nights every week from live music and DJs to Darts Nights.

Ski and snowboard a lit-up Wombat’s Ramble, Australia’s longest green run. 

Fireworks Fiesta 

Thursdays in July and August, weather permitting 

The action-packed firework show will take place in the Village Bowl, near the Frying Pan Inn. 

Board Lounge Showdown 

25 June 

Rail Jam not to be missed. Open to skiers and snowboarders of all ages. 

Ski Demo Days 

30 June – 1 July 

Try before you buy with ski brands Atomic, Black Crows and Volkl. 

Snow Australia Interschools 

16 – 17 July 

School-aged skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels can compete in four disciplines, being Alpine Giant Slalom, Snowboard Giant Slalom, Ski Cross, and Snowboard Cross. 

Rossignol Cup & Cranky Charlie Cup 

18 July 

The popular events have competitors racing down Falls Creek’s iconic NASTAR racecourse. The Rossignol Cup is for Under 16s and the Cranky Charlie Cup is for Over 16s. 

Wombat’s Rambler 

25 July 

One of the longest ski and snowboard races in Australia, under lights. 

Mim’s Women’s Program 

25 July – 27 July, 4 August – 8 August, 29 August – 31 August 

Catering to beginner to advanced skiers, the program is ideal for women looking to improve their technique and gain new skills.  

Mike’s Men’s Program 

25 July – 27 July, 4 August – 8 August, 29 August – 31 August  

Catering to beginner to advanced skiers, the program is ideal for men looking to improve their technique and gain new skills. 

Amelia McGuiness Memorial Time Trial 

28 July 

A fundraising event through the Amelia McGuiness Australian Snowsports Foundation. It is a great training opportunity for school aged and adult skiers and snowboarders to participate in a fun event while supporting emerging winter athletes.   

Snow Australia Schools Carnival 

28 July – 31 July  

A variety of individual and team events open to school aged competitors. 

Falls Creek Primary School Fundraiser 

30 July  

A silent auction to raise funds to support students and programs at Falls Creek Primary School.  

Snowboard Demo Days 

31 July – 1 August 

Try before you buy with Burton, Nitro, Capita, Salomon, Lib-Tech and Gnu attending. 

Junior Freeride at Falls 

9 August 

Junior athletes will have the opportunity to paint a picture on Falls Creek’s ‘Cabbage Path’ and show off their riding style.   

Storm the Park Slopestyle 

16 August 

Open to both skiers and riders, the Slopestyle is judged on overall run impression. With a medium and large line, everyone can get involved for the chance to win some rad gear. 

Kangaroo Hoppet 

23 August 

Falls Creek’s pillar cross-country event. 

Chicks Who Shred 

23 August & 24 August 

Free to attend, intermediate to advanced skiers and boarders will get the chance to improve their skills in a welcoming, female-only environment. 

Rudi Pendl Cup 

28 August 

If you can turn it, you can race it. Skis, snowboards, monoskis, you name it. Choose your weapon and join in the one run Giant Slalom race. 

Gay Ski Week 

29 August –7 September 

Australia’s ultimate LGBT+ Ski Week is back with a full programme of après events and social skiing and snowboarding. 

Twilight Skiing and Boarding 

Wednesday and Saturday nights in September 

Ski and snowboard a lit-up Wombat’s Ramble, Australia’s longest green run. 

Burton Mystery Series 

6 September 

A global series of banked slaloms, the Mystery Series celebrates community and progression for all ages and abilities, featuring all age race categories, product giveaways, athlete demos, and BBQ/après hangouts. 

Summit Masters and Retro Weekend 

6 September & 7 September 

Tradition and true roots return to The Summit with a solid two days of competition in both Giant Slalom on Saturday, followed by Bumps on Sunday. 

Father’s Day Mini Pipe Masters, Presented by Burton 

7 September 

Annual Junior Mini Pipe Masters held on our world series specification mini pipe on Highway 83. This free event is for under 16 shredders and their rad parents who put in the hard yards ferrying them up and down the hill daily. 

Bandwagon Banked Slalom 

13 September 

The event for any skier or snowboarder that loves a bumpy ride. There will be berms, jumps, bumps and spills galore. 

The Dreamer 

14 September 

The jam style format competition will pit local legends against each other with progression the aim of the game. 

Pond Skim 

5 October 

Finish off the season with a splash with prizes up for grabs and dress-up costumes welcomed.
