Summit Chairlift opens with 46cm of fresh snow this week!

Updated 12 July 2025

Winter is well and truly in full swing at Falls Creek. After steady snowfall throughout the last few days, we’ve now seen a total of 46cm fall across the resort this week, blanketing the mountain in a deep, dreamy layer of white. And the best part? Summit Chairlift is officially open, unlocking access to some of our best advanced terrain.

This milestone wouldn’t be possible without the incredible effort of our mountain operations team, groomers, and ski patrol, who’ve worked tirelessly to prepare the lift and ensure conditions are safe. Their hard work combined with the timing of this latest snowstorm means we’re able to take the experience at Falls Creek to new heights.

Summit brings with it steep runs, fresh lines, and spectacular alpine views that our seasoned skiers and riders have been waiting for. Whether you’re carving down crisp groomers or chasing fresh turns off-piste, this is where the adventure steps up a notch.

And with school holidays in full swing, there’s even more reason to make the most of it. Cold overnight temperatures have helped snowmakers enhance our terrain, and with more snow in the Weatherzone forecast, this momentum isn’t slowing down.

So, if you’re waiting for the perfect time to visit Falls Creek, this is it. The summit is spinning. The snow is falling. And the winter you’ve been dreaming of is happening right now.
