Winter is starting to come alive at Falls Creek. Snowmaking is underway across the resort, with the team working through the nights and making the most of every ideal weather window as we prepare for Opening Weekend. The snow guns are firing; the village atmosphere is building and 2026 winter season starts this Saturday!
And there could be even more excitement on the way, with the Weatherzone forecast pointing to a promising snowfall in the lead-up to Opening Weekend.

Opening Weekend at Falls Creek
Celebrate the beginning of winter this June Long Weekend as Falls Creek comes alive once again with alpine atmosphere, entertainment, dining, shopping and family-friendly fun across the village.
Whether you’re returning for your first taste of winter, soaking up the mountain atmosphere or simply enjoying a weekend away in the alpine village, Opening Weekend is set to be a memorable one.
Shopping in the village
Explore the village and get your winter gear sorted at Falls Creek Sports, The Board Lounge and Ski & Boot Co. From outerwear and accessories to ski and snowboard essentials, the village retail stores are ready for the season ahead.

Village dining returns
The village will once again be bustling with dining and après options across Opening Weekend. From relaxed drinks with friends to hearty alpine meals, there’ll be plenty of ways to warm up and celebrate the return of winter in the mountains.

Celebrate the beginning of the snow season with an afternoon of art, culture and community in the alpine surrounds of Falls Creek.
Fire Twirlers & Fireworks

Village Bowl
As the sun sets, head to the Village Bowl for a spectacular evening featuring fire-twirling performances and fireworks lighting up the alpine sky.

Frying Pan Inn
The Falls Creek Legends Lunch returns for 2026 following last year’s sold-out inaugural event. Join Traverse Alpine Group and the Falls Creek Museum for an afternoon celebrating the people, stories and spirit that helped shape Falls Creek into the iconic alpine community it is today.
