Updated 5 June 2026
The excitement is building at Falls Creek as we prepare to welcome guests back for Opening Weekend from Saturday 6 June.
Winter is starting to settle in across the resort, with more than 30cm of snowfall arriving this week and transforming the village into a true alpine wonderland. Snow-covered snow gums, fresh white trails and crisp mountain air are creating the perfect backdrop as anticipation grows for the start of the 2026 winter season.
Our snowmaking team has also been making the most of every cold weather window, with the Techno Alpin snow guns firing. Combined with natural snowfall, the team is working around the clock to build the foundations for a fantastic winter season ahead.
The village is ready to come alive this weekend, with many of your favourite dining and après venues reopening, plus a fantastic lineup of activities and entertainment to enjoy throughout the long weekend. Be sure to browse the latest winter gear and apparel, with Falls Creek Sports, Board Lounge and Ski & Boot co reopening for the season.
Saturday evening will see the village light up with fire twirlers, fireworks and plenty of Opening Weekend celebrations, creating a festive alpine atmosphere for guests of all ages!
Operations updates:
Following this week’s snowfall and snowmaking efforts, we’re excited to confirm that Mouse Trap carpet will open this weekend for skiing and snowboarding!
Perfect for those looking to enjoy their first turns of the season, Mouse Trap carpet will provide guests with the opportunity to get back on snow and kick off winter at Falls Creek. Halley’s Comet chairlift will be operating for chairlift rides providing access to Mouse Trap carpet and Cloud 9 Restaurant for lunch, drinks and spectacular alpine views.
This weekend we have $99 lift tickets on offer for adults and only $54 for kids (when purchased at least one day in advance)! Plus, for those new to the snow, you can add a $1 beginner lesson when you book your lift ticket. This is only available over Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June, and the lesson deal is for guests aged 7 years and above.
To score this amazing deal, simply add a lift-ticket for the weekend to your cart and you’ll have the option to add a $1 beginner lesson before you check out.
