Update: 6 lifts scheduled to spin for opening weekend

Friday 12 June 2021

We are pleased to share that Halley’s Comet, Towers, Drovers Dream plus Mouse Trap Carpet are open for skiing and boarding! Eagle Express and Gully chairs are spinning for access to the Village Bowl and Cloud 9. We’re stoked to have people back shredding Main Street, Drover’s Dream and Wombats Ramble! Keep an eye on the lift report for the most up-to-date information. We will continue making snow at every opportunity and plan to open up more terrain as soon as we can. We look forward to being able to welcome back our guests from Melbourne as soon as travel is permitted.

An update on our season opening plans

Sunday 06 June 2021

We continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation in Victoria closely and comply with State Government requirements while we prepare for the opening of the season at Falls Creek.

With restrictions in regional Victoria having eased on Friday 4 June, we are making snow at every opportunity and expect to open on Saturday 12 June, snow and weather permitting.

In order to facilitate a successful COVID safe 2021 snow season, we respectfully ask all guests visiting the resort to comply with current Government COVID-19 restrictions including travel restrictions.

An update from us: 7 day circuit breaker lockdown in Victoria

It is obviously very disappointing that there has been a COVID-19 outbreak so close to the start of the 2021 snow season, as we are as excited as you are to get out and enjoy the snow.

We support the actions announced by the Victorian Government to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and we will promptly implement arrangements to comply with the requirements while continuing to prepare for the opening of the season at Falls Creek scheduled for 12 June.

We are confident that the Victorian Government and community will take the necessary action to bring the outbreak under control and anticipate having a successful COVID safe 2021 winter season at Falls Creek. We look forward to welcoming you back this winter.

Falls Creek open for the winter season on 12 June!

We do not anticipate 2021 Epic Australia Pass holders will need to make reservations to ski or ride at Falls Creek this season. However, in the event the resorts need to manage capacity to allow for physical distancing, Vail Resorts may manage access through a reservation system that prioritises pass holders.

Lift tickets, lessons, and rentals are now on sale for the entire season!

As winter approaches, further information will be shared about our operating plans.

We can’t wait to welcome you back to Falls Creek this winter!

• Physical distancing will be actively promoted throughout our resorts in lift queues, on lifts, within indoor facilities and on transport.

• We’re limiting venue occupancy to align with the Government’s regulations and using QR check-in codes at indoor venues.
• We will adhere to limits on public gatherings and events.
• We strongly recommend all guests to wear face coverings and adopt safe hygiene measures.
• We encourage guests to download and use the VIC State Services app to enable seamless check-in at venues for contact tracing related to coronavirus (COVID-19). Download the App here.

What will you do if there is a COVID-19 case detected in resort?
  • In the event of COVID-19 detection we will provide a coordinated response with the State Health Department. Although this process will be directed by the State Health department, it will likely involve isolation of the impacted guest or staff member and contact tracing support procedures to identify all at-risk people who may also be required to enter a period of quarantine.
  • The resort will follow the directions of the State Health Department to undertake reactive cleaning and sanitation protocols.
