Explore 450ha of sweet untouched terrain with 3-time Olympian Steve Lee and his world class free rider crew. As a Falls Creek local Steve knows the backcountry like the back of his hand.

During a session with Steve, you’ll be riding a bunch of his favourite terrain. From the super cruisy open bowls and gullies of Rocky Knolls to tree skiing Pretty Valley, or dropping into the black diamond steeps and chutes of Mt McKay. You’ll experience the Australian Alps like never before, and, going up the mountain is as much fun as coming down.

The custom snowmobiles return you to the top in comfort and style, increasing the buzz and saving all your energy for a bunch of great runs down. Tours are half day and suit solid intermediate to the most advanced skiers and boarders of all ages.

Experience Australia’s longest beginner run after dark.

Wombats Ramble lights up the night on Saturday nights allowing you to continue your ski adventures even after the rest of the mountain sleeps.

Being Australia’s longest green run, Wombat’s Ramble is a top favourite of many skiers and snowboarders. The entire length of has been carefully lined with high voltage Green Power floodlights, powered by AGL, and lights up the trail from the top of Halley’s Comet at Cloud 9 all the way downhill to QT.

Each night our dedicated snow making team will maintain snow conditions to provide a skiing and snowboarding playground suited for beginners through to the more advanced that want to experience night time riding.

How do I get there?

Night Skiing starts at the Halley’s Comet chairlift in Slalom Plaza, in front of the QT The Home Base. Tickets can be purchased from The Home Base or Halley’s Comet Ticket Office. Oversnow transport will run later in the evenings when night skiing is running.

If you’re up for a new challenge, Snow bikes are a unique way to experience Australian snow with an exhilarating ride that is sure to get the adrenaline pumping!

Falls Creek is the first resort in Australia where you can slide a ski trail on a snow bike. The Snowsports School holds one hour guided sessions during the day, and nights when night skiing is in operation.

It’s a perfect way to get a group together and take on the snow biking challenge.

Join our guides and experience the Bogong High Plains by Snowmobile.

Snowmobile Tours provide you with an exhilarating experience to explore the vast back-country areas of Falls Creek, while taking in the stunning alpine surroundings and spectacular views. You can choose to drive the snowmobile yourself, or sit back and enjoy the views as a passenger.

Tours take in the magnificent views of Mt McKay, The Summit, Frying Pan Spur, Ruined Castle and the very windy Road 24, which runs down the back side of the Summit allowing tours to go as low down as Howman’s Gap (tour routes change regularly depending on weather and snow conditions).

Nordic Snowshoes are a unique way to experience the beauty of Falls Creek. On a back-country hike you can access spectacular views and locations rarely seen by most visitors to the resort.

Snowshoes are easy to use and offer a fun new way to enjoy the snow. Snowshoes are available to hire from a number of rental outlets – check the rentals section to find out where.

Falls Creek’s Activities Desk runs Nordic Snowshoe Tours three times a week to introduce visitors to the activity with an experienced guide. It is also a great way to learn some secrets above the snowline!

Fat Biking trails are now open at Falls Creek.

Fat Biking is the newest trend in both mountain biking and snowsports, combining the two with a specialised bike that is perfect for riding on snowy trails. There are a number of dedicated dual use trails for Fat Biking and Snowshoeing which are available for access by visitors.

A limited number of fat bikes are available for rental through Snowrider Rentals (Falls Creek Hotel) which can be pre-booked or rented on the day. Please note Fat Bikes are not permitted to be ridden within the village or on any trail not stipluated on the Snowshoe / Fat bike Trail map.
