We’re opening for skiing and boarding this Sunday!

Updated 8 June 2025

Falls Creek is officially opening for skiing and boarding today, 8 June!

Due to the hard work from our incredible snowmaking team and a welcome push from Mother Nature, we’re thrilled to announce that the 2025 snow season is officially underway. We’ve seen 37cm of fresh snow land across the mountain last night, bringing our snowstorm total to 54cm. And guess what, the weatherzone forecast is predicting more snow throughout the week. Winter has well and truly arrived!

Today, skiing and boarding kicks off with Mouse Trap Carpet and Wombat’s Ramble open for first laps and cruisy turns. Warm up your snow legs on Australia’s longest green run. If you’re new to snow or brushing up on your skills, it’s the perfect place to start.

Our mountain operations team and ski patrol have been hard at work through the night during this massive snowstorm to prepare the mountain to open safely. Given the conditions, they will require a little extra time so both lifts will be spinning from 10am today.

For the latest updates on opening times, keep an eye on our social media channels, sign up to our emails, or check our Lift and Terrain page.

And this is just the beginning. We're laying a strong foundation with our new Techno Alpin snow guns, and with consistent snowmaking and further snow in the forecast, our mountain operations team will be preparing to open more terrain as soon as possible.

Private lessons will be available today. Whether you're a first-timer or looking to refine your technique, our expert instructors will help you gain confidence on the slopes. Visit the team at Falls Creek Sports or Snowsports School to book!

There is loads happening as we welcome the season this weekend, find out everything happening on the mountain here!
